Shona Robison first won this seat for the SNP in 2003, when it was simply Dundee East, defeating Labour’s John McAllion, and has increased the majority substantially in each election. Beginning with a majority of just 90 in 2003, that increased to 913 in 2007 and again to 10,679 in 2011. Liberal Democrat Allan Petrie lost his deposit.
